Getting there
Travelling by car
The centre is located near Cowpasture Road and Kurrajong Road. The venue advises that ample onsite parking is available. Please allow extra time, as the car park and surrounding roads may be busy on the morning of the Championships.

Travelling by public transport
Bus stops are located on Kurrajong Road near the venue and Carnes Hill Marketplace. Several services operate through the Carnes Hill Marketplace stop, but competitors and spectators should use the Transport for NSW Trip Planner to confirm the best route and current event-day departure times.
Accessible access
The venue lists designated accessible parking, wheelchair access and accessible change rooms. Anyone requiring additional assistance is encouraged to contact the event organisers before the Championships.
On the day
The Run Sheet
Teams are first on the mats, so team competitors start their morning an hour and a half before everyone else. Check in at the time listed for your events, not at the time they begin.
Competitors entered in team events should arrive in time for the 7.30am team check-in.
Competitors who are only participating in individual events should arrive in time for the 9.00am individual check-in.
Please allow additional time to park, enter the venue and complete check-in.

What you’re entering
On The Mats
Kata and kumite, juniors through to seniors, all day on eight mats with the hall packed around them. Whether your student is chasing a medal or just wants one competition under their belt, this is the room they walk into.

What it costs
Entry & Admission
Competitors pay per event, so a student entering kata and kumite pays once at the full rate and less for the second. Spectators are ticketed separately, so buy ahead and walk straight in.

Three Rules
There is no wiggle room on any of these, and every year somebody finds that out the hard way. Read them, then enter.
Entries close 6 Sep
Sunday 6 September 2026, online only. Nothing is taken by phone, by email or at the dojo. The entry form is the only door in.
No entries on the day
The draw is built from the closed entry list, so turning up on the morning to enter is not an option. Get it in before the deadline.
Fees are non-refundable
All fees are strictly non-refundable, including if your competitor is sick, withdraws or cannot make the day.
Kumite competitors
Safety Gear Is Compulsory
For all kumite events. No gear, no mat. The officials check it at the edge, and there is nothing anyone can do about it at that point. Pack it the night before.
Mouth guard
Every kumite competitor, no exceptions.
Shin protectors
IGKF/WKF approved, red or blue.
Gloves
IGKF/WKF approved, red or blue.
Groin guard
Male competitors.
Chest guard
Female competitors 12 years and over.
White shin guards will not be permitted unless the competitor is under the age of 10. Everyone else needs IGKF/WKF approved shin protectors and gloves in red or blue. The colour is matched to your side of the draw, so bring the pair.

Competitors should arrive with everything below. The compulsory kumite equipment is spelled out in full just above. This is the rest of the bag.

Food and snacks suitable for the day
Their entry confirmation, available on their phone
Any required personal medication
Their spectator-ticket confirmation, where tickets were bought in advance
The centre lists an onsite kiosk offering drinks, snacks and coffee. Competitors should still bring sufficient water and any food they may require, as kiosk products and availability may vary.
Please clearly label personal equipment, drink bottles and bags with the competitor’s name.

Frequently Asked Questions
Has the venue changed?
Yes. The Championships will now be held at the Michael Clarke Centre, 2 Margaret Dawson Drive, Carnes Hill NSW 2171. Please disregard any earlier venue information.
What time should competitors arrive?
Team-event competitors should arrive for check-in at 7.30am.
Competitors participating only in individual events should arrive for check-in at 9.00am.
All competitors should allow extra time for parking and entry into the venue.
What time does the competition begin?
Team events begin at 8.00am.
The official bow-in is at 9.40am, followed by individual events from 10.00am.
What time should I arrive if I am competing in both team and individual events?
Competitors entered in team events must arrive for the 7.30am team check-in and remain at the venue for their individual events.
Can I enter the Championships on the day?
No. All entries must be completed online by Sunday 6 September 2026. No competitor entries will be accepted at the event.
When will I know which division I am competing in?
A division-confirmation email will be sent after entries close. Competitors and parents should check the information carefully and report any errors by Thursday 10 September 2026.
When will the event timetable be available?
The detailed running order will be posted on this page approximately one week before the Championships.
Are entry fees refundable?
No. All entry fees are strictly non-refundable.
Do spectators require tickets?
Yes. Adult, child and family spectator tickets are available. Children under five receive free entry.
Is kumite safety equipment compulsory?
Yes. All kumite competitors must have the required mouthguard, approved gloves, shin protectors and applicable groin or chest guards.
White shin guards are only permitted for competitors under 10 years of age.
Is parking available?
The venue advises that ample onsite parking is available. Competitors and spectators should still arrive early because the centre is expected to be busy.
Is the venue accessible?
The centre provides designated accessible parking, wheelchair access and accessible change rooms.
Will food and drinks be available?
The centre has an onsite kiosk offering drinks, snacks and coffee. Competitors should also bring their own water bottle and suitable food for the day.
